Tottenham begin Boxing Day seventh in the Premier League but with games in hand. They host Crystal Palace who are in 11th place, six points behind Tottenham. The home side are playing their third home game in a week (all being well) which is a relief after seeing games postponed due to Covid-19. They have three games in hand on fourth placed Arsenal, so new boss Antonio Conte will still be hopeful of a place in the Champions League next season. It's been a busy week for Tottenham with a 2-2 home draw against Liverpool followed by a 2-1 win over West Ham United in the EFL Cup quarter final. Tottenham are unbeaten in their last four home league games with three wins in a row before the draw with Liverpool. A win here is going to be important for Tottenham, especially with Arsenal due to play at Norwich. Away form is going to be the key to how high they can climb in the table. This is their 16th league game of the season, of which 10 will have been at home.
Crystal Palace have only won four of their 17 league fixtures this season. Eight have ended in draws though, with only five defeats. Current form hasn't been so good with only a 3-1 home win over Everton in the last six Premier League matches. Just one of their last ten away league games has been won and that was the surprise win at Manchester City. They have failed to build on that success with only one point from the three away games that have followed. Their last two have both been lost 1-0 at Leeds United and Manchester United. Back Tottenham to get the win here.
