It’s been quite a shaky start to the season for Stuttgart but in the last three matches they’ve shown good signs. Going to their Round 16 game against Bayern Munich they will be gunning for three points. The game finds the two sides on opposite ends of the Bundesliga standings, Stuttgart 15th with 17 points while Bayern, the league leaders, are 20 points ahead of them. Stuttgart are coming from a 2-0 win away to Wolfsburg. That was their first clean sheet in five matches, their third straight undefeated outing, and third straight game they scored twice. Three of their last four matches have produced over 2.5 goals. At home, in their last five matches, both sides have scored and three have produced over 2.5 goals.
Bayern Munich had a scare against Mainz but came from down to win 2-1 in their last game. With Borussia Dortmund dropping points, Bayern went six points clear and will hope to widen the gap here. They have five straight wins with both sides scoring in three of them. Bayern do not have a great run defensively; not many of their matches have produced clean sheets. In the 15 league matches this season, they have just four clean sheets but they are the best scoring side, with 47 goals.
Bayern Munich are the league’s best performers this season but they have issues in defence. They have managed just four clean sheets in the league so far, but they make up for it by outscoring opponents. As a result most of their matches are high scoring, and we can expect the same with Stuttgart finding their footing in attack. Four of their last five meetings have produced over 3.5 goals and we expect the same here, with both teams likely to get to the score sheet.
