Sevilla are second in La Liga but eight points behind leaders Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid have an uphill battle to retain their La Liga title. Last weekend saw them lose to Real Madrid and Atletico are now 13 points behind the leaders with a game in hand. The loss to Real was their second successive league loss, after previously losing at home to Mallorca. Only three of their last eight La Liga games have been won, you don't retain titles with that kind of form. Four away league matches have been won but three of the victories came in their first three games. Since then, Atletico have one win in five matches with nine goals conceded.
