Real Madrid v Levante Betting Tips [14 September 2019]
The match
The stuttering La Liga season of Real Madrid (fifth, five points) will hope to gain some consistency when they host Levante (fourth, six points) this weekend at the Santiago Bernabeu. Interestingly, Madrid remain unbeaten this season in the league (W1, D2), but the manner of their draws against Valladolid (1-1) and Villarreal (2-2) has left so many unanswered questions. However, the anticipated return of star mid-fielder Eden Hazard is likely to lift the morale of the hosts. There is so much to improve on the home front too, as Madrid are winless in two league fixtures now (D1, L1) going back to previous campaign. The last time Los Blancos have gone three home league matches winless was between Aug-Sep 2017 (D2, L1). Levante will surely be buoyed by that fact and also by that they have now won consecutive league fixtures. This makes it four wins in their last six league fixtures (W4, D1, L1), during which Levante have scored at least twice in five of those six games. However, Levante do not have a good record away from home in the league. They have already started their away season with a loss at Alaves (0-1) and have now lost five of their last seven La Liga trips (W1, D1, L5).
Key Statistics
- The home side on the day hasn’t won the La Liga fixture between Madrid and Levante for the last five instances (D2, L3).
- Madrid have failed to win only three of their 13 La Liga home games against Levante (W10, D1, L2), but two of those have come in the last two matches (D1, L1).
- Levante have scored at least two goals in five of their last six La Liga matches.
The bet of our experts
Real Madrid remain one of the only six sides yet to lose a La Liga game this season, but they look no where near their best. Although they have a one-point lead over arch rivals Barcelona, bitter neighbours Atletico have already established a four-point lead over them. All this means Madrid will be desperate for a win, although Levante won’t be a pushover. As was seen in their last two matches, the visitors will look to make things difficult for Madrid. A point for Levante is not far-fetched, but more likely we are going to see goals at both ends and over 2.5 match goals.
