Rafael Nadal attempts to win his 14th title at Roland Garros. He races Casper Ruud who is in his first Grand Slam final. Nadal has won all 13 of his previous Roland Garros finals and played in his first when Ruud was only six years of age. Nadal has never won the first two Grand Slams of the year. He can add that to his list of achievements this year after his earlier Australian Open triumph. It'll also be his 22nd Grand Slam win, two more than Djokovic and Federer. He missed the first part of the clay court season due to the injury suffered when losing the Indian Wells final. Nadal hasn't won a clay court title this year but is the overwhelming favourite to do so on Sunday. He has dropped three sets on his way to this final and was in a tight match with Alexander Zverev in the last four before his opponent had to retire injured. He'll be up to fourth in the world after this tournament, a rise of one place.
Casper Ruud will be up two places to a career high sixth after reaching this Roland Garros final. This will be the first match he has played against Nadal who he admits to seeing as a hero. He's won one clay court title this year, winning the Geneva tournament. He's never won a tournament higher than the ATP 250 series, so this will be a massive achievement if he can win this final. Ruud has had a tough route to the final and lost six sets in the tournament so far. He's also had to play five tie-breaks in this tournament, including three in his opening match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. A bet on over 34.5 games can be a winning wager as can betting on a tie-break.
