Ons Jabeur v Shelby Rogers Betting Tips [2 September 2022]

Fifth seeded Ons Jabeur is up against the number 31 seed Shelby Rogers in the US Open third round. The winner faces either 18th seed Veronika Kudermetova or unseeded Dalma Gailfi in the last 16. Jabeur began this tournament ranked fifth but was as high as second in late June. She's up to fourth in the live rankings. Only Iga Swiatek has earned more ranking points than Jabeur in 2022. The Tunisian reached the Wimbledon final (no ranking points won though) The last three years have seen Jabeur reach the third round of the US Open. Never has she got past that stage though, this may be the year she does though. Jabeur has won two titles this year but has only reached one quarter final since Wimbledon. This week has seen her defeat Madison Brengle and Elizabeth Mandlik without losing a set. 

Two Americans have been beaten by Jabeur so now a third one tries to get some revenge. Shelby Rogers just squeezed into the seedings in 31st place. Her career high ranking is 30th and she's 33rd in the live rankings. Last year saw her get to the fourth round of the US Open but in 2020 the American made it all the way to the last eight, only her second Grand Slam quarter final. Rogers recently reached the final in San Jose, losing to Daria Kasatkina but beating Maria Sakkari on the way. This week has seen her beat Arantxa Rus (after losing the first set) and then qualifier Viktoria Kuzmova in straight sets. There have been two previous meetings between this pair with Jabeur winning both of them. The last match was in 2019 and Jabeur has improved since then. Back her to get another win over Rogers.
