Novak Djokovic attempts to win a fourth consecutive Wimbledon men's singles title. A win over unseeded Nick Kyrgios will make it seven titles at Wimbledon. He's unbeaten here since 2017 and even then when he did lose a match to Tomas Berdych, there was no match point lost. Djokovic retired due to an elbow injury. 2016 was the last time he lost a match at Wimbledon that went all the way, a defeat by Sam Querrey. Djokovic is yet to win a Grand Slam event this year and the last success in one was here last year. He's dropped five sets at Wimbledon this year, the most he's dropped since 2014. His last two matches have both seen him drop the first set and the first two against Jannik Sinner. Once he hits his groove though, his dominance returns. The last six sets he has won in this tournament has seen him lose only 16 games. He's yet to beat Kyrgios with two losses suffered in 2017 but both were on hard courts. His record in finals at Wimbledon is a frightening one with six wins out of seven. He's the short priced favourite to make that seven this Sunday.
Even Nick Kyrgios admits his career should have seen more success than he's achieved. That temper of his has many a time cost him matches, could it do so again on Sunday? He's not played since Wednesday due to the bye he received in the semi-final due to Nadal's abdominal injury. Like his opponent, he's dropped five sets in this tournament and if Paul Jubb can win a couple against him, then surely Djokovic can win three. Despite his strong serve, Kyrgios has never won an ATP Tour grass court title. His last tournament win in the singles (he won the men's doubles in Australia this year) was three years ago. He needs to make a strong start in this match. Going a set down to Djokovic is going to make incredibly tough for the Australian. Djokovic has far more experience of these occasions, back him to win the title again.
