A few days after his return to Anfield, Steven Gerrard takes on the manager he replaced at Aston Villa. 13th placed Villa look to get back in winning ways when travelling to bottom-of-the-table Norwich City. Gerrard took over from Dean Smith, who now sits in the Norwich dug-out. Villa lost 1-0 at Liverpool on Saturday and although dominated for most of the game, fared better when changing their formation. Since taking over at Villa Park, Gerrard's side have won three matches and lost to Manchester City and Liverpool. This is going to be a fair bit easier than going to Anfield or hosting the defending Premier League champions. The loss to Liverpool took Villa down to 13th but they are only three points behind eighth placed Leicester. Only six away Premier League points have been earned this season. They did get a recent win at Crystal Palace though.
Norwich City prop up the table and are three points from safety. It's virtually four though due to their appalling goal difference. Saturday saw them lose 1-0 at home to Manchester United, their second consecutive defeat, both without scoring. Norwich have two points from their last four league games. Only one home league game has been won this season and they have a pretty tough upcoming fixture list. Another relegation looks extremely likely. Back Villa to get an away win here.
