Motherwell v Livingston Betting Tips [26 December 2021]

Fourth place Motherwell host eighth place Livingston at Fir Park for this Boxing Day matchup in the Scottish Premiership. Motherwell should be pleased with their season so far, with a real chance for european football they are currently two points ahead of fifth place Dundee and five points behind third place Hearts. Their strong home form is a large factor in their success this season, as they have accumulated 19 of their 28 points playing in front of their own fans. They should be confident of continuing this success against a Livingston team who they have had consistent success against in recent matches. Motherwell’s last match was a 2-0 home victory against St. Johnstone, while the visitors last match was a 1-1 draw at home to Ross County. 

Motherwell are on an impressive run of three straight home victories with three clean sheets after their 6-1 humbling defeat at the hands of Rangers. In total they have six wins, one draw and three defeats at Fir Park and have kept a clean sheet in half of their home matches. Livingston won’t be too discouraged however, as they have the fourth best away from home record in the league and have 12 points from 10 matches. An interesting trend in Motherwell’s season so far has been their excellent first half performances at home. The Steelmen have scored a goal in the first half of nine of their 10 matches and have won six of those. A stark contrast to their first half performances when they are the away side, failing to score in nine matches. All told, Motherwell should be in great spirits and their strong home form should carry them over the line here against a below average Livingston side.
