League leaders PSG travel to the Stade du Moustoir to take on a struggling Lorient side. The home team has lost eight straight matches and nine of their last 10 with their last victory coming in September. The Parisian giants are not the team you want to face when in such a bad run and firmly planted in the relegation zone. FC Lorient sit 19th in the table with 15 points and trail 17th place Troyes by just one point. PSG have a commanding lead in Ligue 1, currently with 42 points, they lead second place Marseille by 13 points. Pochettino’s team has won three straight matches, and their last league match was a 2-0 victory against AS Monaco. Paris Saint-Germain has won 14 of their Ligue 1 matches, drawn three and lost just once. They have two months until their showdown with Real Madrid in the Champion League and will look to build momentum with a string of positive results in the league.
PSG will be without Neymar, as the mercurial Brazilian has suffered yet another injury setback, and former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos looks set to miss out. Not that PSG lacks quality in depth as they have arguably one of the greatest squads ever assembled. The visitors should record a comfortable win here and shouldn’t be bothered too much by Lorient’s attack. The hosts have failed to score in four of their last five matches. PSG have won six away matches, drawn two and lost once giving them the best away record in the league. While FC Lorient have struggled mightily, one positive they can fall back on is their defensive solidity at home. They have only conceded eight goals at home and their three wins on the season have all come in front of their home fans.
