Burnley are 18th in the Premier League and two points from safety. A home win over 14th placed Everton will take them out of the bottom three. Burnley have as many as three games in hand on thei sides above them but they need to get some wins. Only one Premier League game has been won this season, a 3-1 home win over Brentford at the end of October. Since then, they have drawn four games and lost at Newcastle, one of only two teams below them. Burnley have only had two home Premier League wins all year, they could really do with making that three. They have only one loss in their last six Premier League games played at Turf Moor but draws won't be good enough. Only 14 league goals have been scored this season but 10 of those came in four matches. No goals have been scored by Burnley in their last three league fixtures.
The season began well for Everton and that included a 3-1 home win over Burnley. They earned 10 points from their first four league games but as was the case last season, they haven't been able to maintain that good form. The last 13 league games have only produced nine points and they are 13 points off the top four and only eight above Burnley from two games more. The big problem they have at present is finding enough players to take part in this match. Rafa Benitez has been understandably vocal about the problems the club has with injuries and Covid absentees. Seven of their last 10 league games have been lost and a poor Christmas might just see Benitez out of a job in the new year. Three of their next four league games are against the sides currently in the Premier League relegation zone. With a weakened squad it's hard to back them to win this match. Go for under 2.5 goals with a side bet on a draw.
