The pressure will be on Chelsea if Manchester City beat Leicester earlier on Boxing Day. Chelsea begin the day third in the Premier League and have a tricky game away at tenth placed Aston Villa. If City were to win, then that would take them nine points clear of Chelsea and with a much better goal difference. Chelsea have only win in their last four Premier League games with the last two being drawn. They are three points behind second placed Liverpool, who aren't playing on Boxing Day. Chelsea can draw level on points but would need an eight-goal win to go into second. They have only one point from their last two away games. With league games against the top two next month, Chelsea really need to win this and keep on the heels of City and Liverpool.
Aston Villa are only six points adrift of fifth place. More importantly, they are a healthy 11 points above the bottom three. That's all down to the revival under new boss Steven Gerrard. Villa have nine points from five league games played under their new boss. That's a massive improvement after losing five games in a row before the sacking of Dean Smith. Three wins have been recorded and two losses to Manchester City and Liverpool but both by only one-goal margins. This won't be easy for a Chelsea side that have players out due to injury and Covid-19. A bet on both teams to score looks a winning one to make, have a side bet on a draw.
