Brief Overview of Bet at Home

The Bet-at-Home website is one that we strongly recommend that you join. There isn't a welcome offer available but there are plenty of other reasons to register with them. Who are Bet-at-Home? It was in the final month of the 20th century when Jochen Dickinger and Franz Omer from Austria founded Bet-at-Home. In March 2000, the website was launched offering a sports betting service and soon after a live score service was added.

Their business continued to expand with the introduction of an online casino in 2005.  2009 saw them become part of the Betclic Everest Group. Their head office is now at Portomaso Business Tower in Malta and are licensed and regulated by the Malta Gambling Commission.

By 2017 their turnover in betting and gaming had topped the €3bn mark with gross earnings of €145.4m. They have nearly 5m customers who are offered on average 7,000 daily bets. This year has seen them launch their app and an eSports channel. They are no strangers to the world of sports sponsorship having had dealings with Hertha Berlin, Schalke 04, Austria Vienna and SV Ried. The company motto is ‘Life is a game’ and it looks as if they are winning.

THE BET AT HOME SITE

When you log into the Bet-at-Home website it won’t take you long to notice that there’s a lot going on here. The site has a blue background with the all-important information standing out in white boxes.

The home page has lots of information on it but presents it in a way that doesn’t make it look cluttered. There’s a welcome box at the top of the page that could do with a little updating in terms of the number of customers they have as it gives a figure of 4m. You can become a member of the site with the site by clicking on the ‘Register Now for Free’ box. Alternatively, you can use the ‘Register now!’ link situated on the bar in the top right-hand corner of the screen. More details about the registration process later in this review.

Down the left-hand side of the home page are details about the payment methods you can use on the site. Below that there’s information about the top winners on the site and hopefully once joining, you will end up included on that list. The centre of the home page has a link to a news story about one of the top sporting events and details of matches you can bet on right at that moment. Finally, on the right-hand side there are boxes that link you to the sports betting page, the live betting page and the virtual sports area of the website.

Click on the link to the sports betting section and there’s a wealth of information to see. The list of sports that the site covers is down the left-hand side of the page and you just click on the relevant sport to go to that page. Below that are links to the statistics section, betting rules, live scores and results with another list of top winners below that, they are rather keen to publicize those. Down the middle of the page are details of live games, upcoming bets and sporting highlights with the right-hand side simply showing the all-important betslip that looks a little lonely to be honest.

The live betting page is rather similar to the one just described. It has the live games down the left-hand side, just click on them and all the markets and odds appear in the centre. All these links make navigating your way around the site rather easy. There’s also a virtual betting page that includes horse racing, football, greyhound racing, tennis and basketball.

THE BET AT HOME APP

Even though the site is called Bet-at-Home, there are going to be times when you will need to go out but how do you keep up to touch with everything? That’s easily achieved by either using their new app or the mobile version of the website.

To turn the site into the mobile version rather than the desktop one, just go to the bottom of the home page and click on ‘mobile’ which is at the end of the list of links. That takes you to the mobile version that you can use while out and about.

If you want to register with the site, you need to look in the top right-hand corner of the page. Click on the three black lines and a drop-down menu appears. This includes a link to the registration page and there will be more details of the registration process later in this review.

Also included in that drop-down menu are links to details about the payment methods accepted on the site and what to do if you forget your password which is so easy to do. You can also access the promotions page, details of top winners on the site and the help section.

The home page of the mobile version of the site shows you snippets of what is available in the sports, casino and virtual sections of the website. Just above this are links to the top betting opportunities with some text about each event. Just click on them to go to the relevant page. Underneath the links to the different sections of the sites are links to today’s bets, tomorrow’s bets and the rules of the site.

Bet at home App review

The best thing about this App is that it includes the features that you can play on the desktop version of the website. This includes all the sports and live betting features, so you won’t be missing out on anything. It has a simplistic design with tabs at the top of the page and it’s easy to use with navigation being no problem at all, so the chances of you missing out on that event you can’t wait to place a bet on are slim.

It’s easy to make deposits and withdrawals when using the App so you can carry out financial transactions whenever you want and wherever you are. All very good reasons indeed to register with the site.

BET AT HOME SPORTS BETTING

You certainly won't have a problem finding events to place bets on. There is a wide range of sports for you to be placing bets on here with the notable exceptions of horse racing or greyhound racing. If that’s the passion that you have then you will need to look elsewhere. There is some horse and greyhound racing available in the virtual sport section of the site, but you can’t beat the real thing, can you?

You still have plenty of other sports to be placing bets on and there are betting opportunities available 24/7 as they cover events from all around the globe. There’s plenty of action from Asia in the mornings, Europe in the afternoon/evening and then for those of you who fancy a late night, there’s betting on events from the Americas.

Being a European based site, they do focus a lot on sports such as futsal, handball and skiing. All levels of sporting events are featured on the site with reserve and youth games to bet on as well as the very best leagues and cup tournaments on the planet. You will find the statistics section of the site very useful and there’s a results and live scores service too as well as plenty of ante-post betting to try and get long-range winners from.

An area where this site could improve is in its offering of promotions. Most sites have plenty on offer but that isn’t always the case here. They do offer some special bets such as 3-way betting on games up to a certain time but compared to other sites it’s a rather poor effort. There’s no loyalty scheme either and this is definitely an area where they could look at making improvements.

LIST OF SPORTS TO BET ON

The list of sports covered by this website are: Football, tennis, basketball, handball, volleyball, ice-hockey, motorsports (motor cycling/F1/speedway), American Football, baseball, darts, cycling, rugby union and league, boxing, Combat Sports, table-tennis, alpine skiing, ski-jumping, biathlon, cross-country skiing, futsal, water polo, netball, snooker, cricket and golf.

A wide range of sports then with a few notable exceptions as previously mentioned. The coverage is good though and you will never have a dull moment when visiting this site.

FOOTBALL BETS ON BET AT HOME

If you are a fan of football and love betting on the sport, there are plenty of opportunities available on this site so fill in their registration form now. The number of games that you can be placing bets on is immense with coverage of all the major league around the world as well as amateur/reserve/youth games.

There are matches to bet on virtually 24/7 with games from all over the world being featured on the site. It’s not just a case of betting on who is going to win or lose as there are plenty of football markets available. This can go over the 100 mark for the top games with everything from how many corners in the game to whether there will be a penalty, double chance and handicap betting.

LIVE BETTING

Being able to actually bet on a game while it’s being played has become a major part of sports betting in recent years. Gone are the days when you just put a bet on before the game and watched it knowing you couldn’t place any further bets. Now you can bet in-play with the odds constantly changing reflecting what is happening. If a team is 4/7 to win a match and fail to take a lead, those odds will continually lengthen to say 8/13 then 4/6 etc. If they do take the lead, then the odds will shorten to perhaps 1/10 and win betting becomes rather unattractive unless you are a high roller. When a favourite falls behind, their odds will lengthen to perhaps 5/4 and if you still believe they are going to win the game when the final whistle blows, you could take a chance and get a good price on their victory.

That’s an important aspect of live betting because if your selection is winning as you can place more bets to increase your winnings. For example, by placing bets on markets such as next team to score, leading at half and full time and correct score. On the other hand, if your selection isn’t doing so well, you can try and dig yourself out of a hole by backing the opponents and getting some winning bets.

Once you register with this site you will see that there is a wide variety of sports throughout the day. To make live betting even more exciting, there is the opportunity to cash out your bets. This gives players the opportunity to end their bet before it reaches its conclusion. It’s a big decision to make but one that can get you wins that otherwise wouldn’t have happened. That’s the case if your selection is leading, you cash out and then they fail to maintain that advantage until the game ends. Sometimes you can cash out and your selection goes onto win meaning you have taken a lesser amount, it’s a fascinating bet and good to see it offered here. There is an absence of live streaming though which is a bit disappointing as that is offered on many other sites.
